Shale shakers are the primary solids separation tool on a rig. After returning to the surface of the well the used drilling fluid flows directly to the shale shakers where it begins to be processed. Once processed by the shale shakers the drilling fluid is deposited into the mud tanks where other solidcontrol equipment begin to remove the finer solids from it. The solids removed by the shale shaker are discharged out of the discharge port into a separate holding tank where they await further treatment or disposal.

Shale shakers are considered by most of the drilling industry to be the most important device in the solid control system as the performance of the successive equipment directly relates to the cleanliness of the treated drilling fluid.

AWD Angle Adjustment System of KOSUN Shale Shaker

KOSUN patented AWD angle adjustment system can raise or lower the end of screen basket while the machine is working.This part includes two vertical column assemblies that are connected on the upper beam assembly and are attached to the shaker base. The mobile part of AWD consists of the lower beam, limiting device that controls vertical movement and screw rod that drives the upward and downward movement of the screen basket. Both ends of screw rod are hinged with the upper and lower beam assemblies respectively. Positive and negative rotating handles can make the screen basket move upward and downward respectively.

The screen basket angle of shale shaker can be arbitrarily adjusted within -1°~5° at an increment of 0.5°as required.

Shale shaker is the first stage solids control equipment in the drilling rig, to separate the big drilling cuttings or generally called solids out of the drilling mud. A complete shale shaker is consist of shaker base, screen basket, screen, vibration motor, feeding weir, basket angle adjustment system while drilling (AWD), explosion-proof switch, etc.
