Drilling mud centrifugal pump principle
Centrifugal pump is combined with impeller and casing. Drilling fluid will be sucked from impeller side, when impeller rotates at high speed there will be centrifugal force and gain power or pressure. Then fluid flow through impeller path will produce pressure out. The drilling mud will come out under certain pressure.
If centrifugal pump is feeding pump for hydrocyclone separator the drilling mud will flow into cones under pressure and get a screw to separate larger particles out. If the pump is only transferring pump or for mixing system the pressure will ensure the sufficient motility and flow rate

Drilling fluid centrifugal pump is a ideal corollary equipment which provide power for desander, desilter and the jet mud mixer, it also be as the replenishment pump of slurry pump. The most of components can interchange, it has the advantages of operation and maintenance is convenience, the leakage of the shaft seal is small, the working operation is reasonable, the using lifetime is long. Because there are a lot of solid phase particles and all kinds of chemical additive in drilling fluid, so the impellers of centrifugal pump and the shell must meet the requirements of the two phases motion law, in order to decrease the wear, resistance the corrosion. The working environment of the centrifugal pump is very bad, the pump transport a large number of fluid with sand, so the seal of shaft end is very well, it is very difficult to solve it by the common pump seal method. At the same time, because the medium has the abrasiveness and corrosive, so the inner pump is often destroyed, so need to plugging the n before and after impellers between the plates. Otherwise, the matching of flow and the head of the centrifugal pump with the hrdrocyclone( desilter, desander, jet mud mixer device) must be appropriate. If not, the hydrocyclone can’t normal work.
